The manufacturer
Wolter is a family-owned company founded in 1971. It designs and builds fans for buildings, industry, tunnels and ships, and about 80% of its turnover comes from exports. The company runs its own aerodynamic and acoustic development, has in-house test facilities, and its quality management system is certified to DIN EN ISO.
Wolter’s network of subsidiaries and partners covers Europe, the Middle East and Asia, including its own companies in China, India, Thailand, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
Jet-fan ventilation: a core competence
For car parks Wolter builds three jet-fan types: low-height axial JFUO/JFRO, round axial JFUC/JFRC and centrifugal JFC for minimum installation height. The fans are tested to EN 12101-3 for operation at 300 °C and 400 °C for 120 minutes; production is supervised by the notified body MPA Braunschweig.
Wolter jet-fan systems run in landmark European projects: the car parks of the OpernTurm tower and The Squaire in Frankfurt, the MyZeil/PalaisQuartier complex and the Allianz Arena grounds in Munich. The manufacturer’s reference list includes about 170 projects, among them sites in Kyiv and Baku.
German fans, certified in the EU
Wolter builds German fans in two of its own factories in Germany. Its made-in-Germany fans are also made-in-EU fans: European fans (Europa fans) whose smoke exhaust models carry CE marking under Regulation (EU) No 305/2011, are tested to the European standard EN 12101-3, and whose factory production control is supervised by the notified body MPA Braunschweig.
So where a specification calls for EU fans, Wolter meets it in full: these are EU-certified fans with tested, not just declared, performance.
Product range
Besides jet fans, Wolter makes two-stage axial fans for car parks, axial smoke exhaust fans, roof, centrifugal and duct fans, cabinet fans, chemical-resistant plastic fans, tunnel fans and controls.
Why Wolter
- Specialisation in car parks and smoke control, backed by EN 12101-3 testing.
- Designs built for maintenance: on JF jet fans, for example, the motor–impeller unit slides out of the casing.
- Manufacturer engineering support for complex systems.
