Wolter — a German fan manufacturer
Wolter GmbH Maschinen- und Apparatebau KG is a family-owned company from Malsch (Baden-Württemberg, Germany), founded in 1971. It designs and manufactures fans for buildings, industry, tunnels and ships; it has two production sites in Germany, its own test facilities and an ISO 9001 quality management system. About 80% of its turnover comes from exports.
For car parks, Wolter specialises in jet (impulse, or induction) fans and smoke exhaust fans. Wolter jet and axial fans have been tested to the European standard EN 12101-3 for operation at 300 °C (class F300) and 400 °C (class F400) for 120 minutes; factory production control is supervised by the notified body MPA Braunschweig.

Wolter smoke exhaust fans: F300 and F400
Smoke exhaust fans (smoke extraction fans, fans of smoke protection systems, smoke and heat exhaust fans) are fire-resistant high-temperature fans that must keep running during a fire. Under DBN V.2.5-56 (the Ukrainian State Building Norm on fire protection systems) they must comply with EN 12101-3; since 1 June 2026, DSTU EN 12101-3:2017 (the Ukrainian national standard), which also covers jet fans, has been in force in Ukraine. Wolter supplies:
- JF jet fans — F300 and F400, 120 min;
- AXV / BXV axial fans — F300 (300 °C, 60 and 120 min) and F400 (400 °C, 120 min);
- RVHT roof fans — 400 °C for 120 min;
- tunnel jet and axial fans — up to class F400.

German fans certified in the EU
Wolter fans are made in Germany: they are manufactured at two factories in Germany. Smoke exhaust fans carry CE marking under Regulation (EU) No 305/2011 on construction products: they are tested to the European standard EN 12101-3, and factory production control is carried out by the notified body MPA Braunschweig. In other words, these are European fans, made in the EU, with characteristics that are confirmed rather than merely declared. If a project calls for EU-made fans, Wolter fully meets this requirement.
Tunnel ventilation and metro ventilation
For road and railway tunnels, Wolter makes tunnel jet fans (unidirectional and reversible) and large axial tunnel fans for longitudinal and transverse ventilation. Auxiliary equipment — dampers and a silencer for the fan — is supplied by Wolter together with the fans. The equipment is designed for the aggressive tunnel environment and works in both normal and emergency mode — tunnel smoke extraction up to class F400. Metro fans: Wolter has supplied axial tunnel fans and comfort ventilation units for platforms and pedestrian tunnels.
