Wolter EKN / DKN forward-curved duct fans

A rectangular duct fan with a drum (forward-curved) impeller on an external-rotor motor. EKNS/DKNS versions come in a sound-insulated casing.

Sizes
EKN — 200–315, DKN — 200–450

Purpose

EKN/DKN are fans for rectangular ducts in ventilation and air-conditioning systems. The sound-insulated EKNS/DKNS are chosen where low noise matters.

Design

The forward-curved impeller is mounted on an external-rotor motor and balanced to G2.5. The motor has thermal contacts and a low starting current and can be controlled over 100 % of its range by an auto-transformer or an electronic controller. The EKN/DKN casing is galvanised steel with 20 mm flanges; EKNS/DKNS use an aluminium profile frame with insulated panels.

When to choose

  • a duct fan is needed for a rectangular duct;
  • a sound-insulated casing is required — EKNS/DKNS;
  • for comparison, see the backward-curved EK / DK series.
