Market and projects
Armenia’s construction volume reached AMD 810.7 billion in 2025, up from 709.5 billion in 2024 and 678.5 billion in 2023 (Statistical Committee of Armenia).
Codes and approvals
Armenia’s new car-park design norm has applied since 27 January 2026; it relies on the national heating and ventilation norm and on the EAEU technical regulation for fire-safety equipment:
- ՀՀՇՆ 31-05-2026 “Car parks” — building norms of the Republic of Armenia (order No. 03-N of 16 Jan 2026, in force from 27 Jan 2026) — official text: smoke exhaust from underground car parks is mechanical, through exhaust shafts: no more than 900 m² of smoke zone per shaft per storey, a separate system for each storey, flow rates by calculation (§ 6.3); CO meters with alarms in a room staffed around the clock (§ 6.3, 6.6)
- ՀՀՇՆ IV-12.02.01-04 “Heating, ventilation and air conditioning” (order No. 83-N of 4 Aug 2004) — official text: radial (centrifugal) fans are specified for smoke protection (cl. 8.11(a))
- TR EAEU 043/2017 on requirements for fire safety and firefighting equipment (EEC Council Decision No. 40 of 23 Jun 2017, in force from 1 Jan 2020) — official text: exhaust fans of smoke ventilation systems require certification (annex, item 103); the applicant must be registered in an EAEU member state (para. 94), and tests are done in laboratories on the EAEU unified register (para. 96)
Armenian norms do not mention jet fans: smoke exhaust is described as mechanical extraction through shafts, and the ventilation norm names only radial (centrifugal) fans for smoke protection. A jet-fan system therefore has to be justified in the design documentation; we prepare the calculations and CFD modelling for that.
State fire-safety inspection: Urban Development, Technical and Fire Safety Inspectorate.
Equipment documents
Armenia is a member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Under TR EAEU 043/2017, exhaust fans of smoke ventilation systems require certification: only a company registered in an EAEU member state can apply, and testing is done by laboratories on the EAEU unified register (the standards list for these fans cites GOST R 53302-2009). We check for each project whether the requirement extends to jet fans.
Design considerations
An underground car park may have no more than 900 m² of smoke zone per shaft on each storey, with a separate system for each storey. Smoke outlets must be at least 3 m above ground and 15 m from windows and playgrounds; extraction starts before supply, and general ventilation shuts down in a fire (§ 6.3).
How we work
Jetfans engineers handle selection, calculations and CFD remotely and prepare documentation in English and Russian; on site we work with local installation partners. Equipment from Germany and Korea is delivered to the construction schedule. We are looking for distributors and installers in Armenia.
