Market and projects
Construction work in Moldova grew 32.2% in 2025 at comparable prices, and 42.8% for non-residential buildings; in January–June 2026 it was 8.2% below the same period of 2025 (National Bureau of Statistics).
Codes and approvals
Moldova’s car-park design norm is based on the interstate norm and is published in Romanian and Russian; the general fire-safety norms were updated in 2026:
- NCM B.02.01-2006 “Car parks” (Parcaje) (ACDT order No. 157 of 27 Nov 2007, applied from 1 Dec 2007) — official text: based on the interstate norm MSN 2.02-05-2000; underground car parks need smoke exhaust through shafts, normally fan-driven and sized by calculation, with one shaft serving smoke zones of up to 3,000 m² per storey (p. 6.16); stairs and lifts are pressurised where there are two or more underground storeys (p. 6.17); CO meters with alarms in a room staffed around the clock (p. 6.13); automatic extinguishing in all underground car parks (p. 6.33)
- NCM E.03.02:2026 — fire safety of buildings and works (MIDR order No. 36 of 19 Feb 2026, applied from 26 Feb 2026) — official text: every design includes a fire-safety measures section (MASI, p. 4.1–4.2); buildings without national norms and complex or unique buildings need special technical conditions (p. 1.5)
- SM CEN/TS 12101-11:2022 and SM BS 7346-7:2025 — horizontal-flow smoke control for enclosed car parks (adopted 19 Sep 2022 and 21 Mar 2025) — official text: Moldovan national standards identical to the European specification CEN/TS 12101-11 and the British code of practice BS 7346-7:2013
Moldovan norms do not mention jet fans. However, Moldova has adopted national standards based on CEN/TS 12101-11 and BS 7346-7, which cover the design of horizontal-flow (jet-fan) systems and can support a jet-fan design. We confirm the approval route for each project at the start.
Fire authority: General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Equipment documents
Moldova is an EU associated country (Association Agreement of 2014) and opened EU accession negotiations in June 2024. According to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, products imported from the EU are not subject to national certification. The national standard SM EN 12101-3:2016 is identical to EN 12101-3:2015; we recommend providing the accompanying documents in Romanian translation.
Design considerations
The norms we reviewed set no fan temperature class (F-class); it is chosen in the design. Enclosed car parks need CO meters with alarms in a room staffed around the clock (p. 6.13).
How we work
Jetfans engineers handle selection, calculations and CFD remotely and prepare documentation in English and Russian; on site we work with local installation partners. Equipment from Germany and Korea is delivered to the construction schedule. We are looking for distributors and installers in Moldova.
