Codes and approvals
Fire safety of buildings, including garages, is set by an Interior Minister regulation and the Estonian EVS 812 standards:
- Minister of the Interior Regulation No. 17 on fire safety requirements for construction works and firefighting water supply (30 Mar 2017): essential fire-safety requirements may also be met by departing from the regulation’s prescriptive rules through analytical proof (as summarised by the Chancellor of Justice)
- EVS 812-4:2018 — Fire safety of constructions, Part 4: industrial buildings, storages and garages (from 16 Jan 2018) — official text
- CEN/TS 12101-11:2022 — adopted in Estonia in English (from 1 Aug 2022) — official text
Estonian rules allow fire-safety requirements to be met by analytical proof, which is the route for a CFD-justified jet-fan design. The European specification CEN/TS 12101-11 has been adopted in Estonia since August 2022.
Fire authority: Estonian Rescue Services Agency (Päästeamet).
Equipment documents
Wolter smoke exhaust fans are supplied with CE marking and a Declaration of Performance (DoP) under the Construction Products Regulation (EU) No 305/2011: they are tested to EN 12101-3, and factory production control is supervised by the notified body MPA Braunschweig.
How we work
Jetfans engineers handle selection, calculations and CFD remotely and prepare documentation in English and Russian; on site we work with local installation partners. Equipment from Germany and Korea is delivered to the construction schedule. We are looking for distributors and installers in Estonia.
